The actor is dancing in the middle of public as seen by the railings, stairs, the littered-street and the graffiti on the walls which also signals that the man has gone insane. Extract 1 The woman's home is dimly-lit to reinforce the film's theme of horror as darkness has connotations of the scary and unknown. The woman is wearing a casual outfit and is in her home. This signifies that scary things can happen to any ordinary person. There is a build-up of scary music to raise tension and keep the viewer on edge.
